What's That Thing In Your Yard?

That thing...can you see it?  what is it?  Is it something from outer space?  Did it fall off a rocket and land in your yard?  It's on some kind of easel, isn't it?  What is it?  I've had several questions about this thing.  What do you suppose it could be?
Here's a picture that's just a little closer.  Any guesses?  No, it's not a high-tech bird feeder.  Sorry, it's not an internet satellite either.  Do you give up?
Here it is even closer.  Take one last look.  Do you give up?
It's my husband's weather station!  The black thing that looks like an upside down bucket, isn't really upside down at all.  It's the rain gage.  If you look closely on the left you will see the spinning anemometer.  As it spins, it reads wind direction and speed.  On the right there is a white box with an antennae on it that transmits all kinds of weather data to the display in the house.
And here it is - the weather station information center.  It is right next to Hubby's easy chair so that he can tell what the conditions are like any time day or night!  When we get a hard rain, it scrolls across the bottom, "It's raining cats and dogs!"  Pretty clever, huh?

Happy first day of spring everybody!
