With temperatures in the 90s and the heat index even higher, the flowers in the yard are not thriving, to say the least. I did, however, manage to catch a few pretty blossoms before the wilted for the day.
Isn't this an interesting plant? It's called a chenille, and the leaves look like the leaves of a strawberry plant.
I shot this rose of Sharon just in the nick of time. Every blossom on the bush was closed and this one was almost done for the day, too! I am very concerned about this plant as we've seen the Japanese beetles on a couple of our trees, and last year they all but destroyed our red rose of Sharon. I'm hoping the dumb things are not as attracted to this beautiful blue one!
Rex's babies!
My neighbor's hydraengas - not sure if that's spelled correctly - are stunning! Look at the bloom below. Doesn't it look like a heart? How sweet!
God is great!
Ooh, I get a pedi Friday, maybe I can get a color like that. Harold is jealous of Rex'es tomatoes. We had a bad rainstorm today and Harold lost some of his, he just had them in pots and they blew over. See you tomorrow.
