The relatives will be here soon so if I'm ever going to get this Christmas post out there, now is the time. We had to buy a new tree this year. After three or four years of trying to "make do" with our old pre-lit tree that had decided to only be pre-lit sporadically, something had to be done. This eight footer did the trick. It's a bit smaller than the old tree, but that's okay.
Last year I decorated the fireplace mantle with the deer. This year, Mr. Deer found a nice spot tucked in under the tree. The photo below shows the mantle this year...no room for Mr. Deer.
Instead of putting our star atop the new tree, I decided I would stick a few pokey things us there. I think it turned our just as nice as some of the trees I've seen on display in the stores. I think I'll do this again next year.

I am very pleased with the way the ornaments look on the new tree.

Another pic of the pokey things on top of our tree.
Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!
