Garage Sale Prep Continues!

Yes, my work preparing for Friday's garage sale continues,
 and I must say it is H - O - T - hot!
Trudging up and down the stairs, hauling loads out to the garage, and the 90+ degree temperatures
combine to make the task much more difficult that it truly is!
Take a close look at the fruits of my labor shown below.
There are TONS of bargains -
and I do mean TONS -
I know because I have lugged them all up the steps!  LOL

Happy First Day of Summer!

Even though it's already felt like summer for several weeks around here, today officially marks summer's beginning!  What better way to mark the date than with a fresh pedicure!  The color?  Strawberry Margarita by OPI...gorgeous!  Well, the polish anyway!
With temperatures in the 90s and the heat index even higher, the flowers in the yard are not thriving, to say the least.  I did, however, manage to catch a few pretty blossoms before the wilted for the day.

Isn't this an interesting plant?  It's called a chenille, and the leaves look like the leaves of a strawberry plant.

I shot this rose of Sharon just in the nick of time.  Every blossom on the bush was closed and this one was almost done for the day, too!  I am very concerned about this plant as we've seen the Japanese beetles on a couple of our trees, and last year they all but destroyed our red rose of Sharon.  I'm hoping the dumb things are not as attracted to this beautiful blue one!

Rex's babies!

My neighbor's hydraengas - not sure if that's spelled correctly - are stunning!  Look at the bloom below.  Doesn't it look like a heart?  How sweet!

God is great!

Garage Sale Bargains!

Yes, it's nearly time for my annual garage sale.  For those of you that have been to my sales before, you are very familiar with all my great deals.  My garage sale mantra is, "Nothing comes back in the house!"  Of course, that means everything is CHEAP!  The photo above shows a little of what I'm getting organized right now.  All clothes are 25 and 50 cents!  That's is a super deal as many of you that know me personally, know that I am quite a snappy dresser!  LOL
Remember, no ensemble is complete without the requisite designer handbag, and yes, I have those, too.  Look at the shot below.  Can you see that I have D&B, Coach, Etienne Aigner, Maxx NY, and other designers represented.  I'm telling you, my garage sales rock!  If you click on the photo, you'll be able to look at the bags up close!
Is there anything besides clothes you ask...well, yes ma'am there is!  I have home decor items, quilts, comforter sets, and holiday decor.  Just take a look at all these goodies and mark your calendar for Friday, June 25.  I'll open the garage doors at 7:00 A.M.
PeterboroBaskets
(there are 4 more inside the hamper)

Here is just a tiny sampling of some of my holiday decor.  Very, very cute, don't you think?  Not just Christmas, though.  I'll keep the Easter and Halloween items secret.

Look at these two quilts, and take a peek at the old wooden high chair on the left...sweet, sweet, sweet!  Remember - Friday, June 25 - 7:00 A.M.

New Eyeglasses!

Mom had a treatment today, and since they take close to five hours, I decided to make an appointment at the eye doctors, too.  It was my first time seeing Dr. Massie.  My neighbor, Becky, works for him and has only nice things to say.  The office is in Fairview and is called Performance Eyewear.  Although I was there for new contact lenses, I decided to go ahead and get new eyeglasses, too.  I've posted a photo of them below.  Cute, huh?  They're called Coach Suzanna, and I cannot wait until they arrive!
