Happy Thanksgiving!

I hope you enjoyed your turkey and dressing.  Rex created a feast for four this year.  Two less than usual.  My parents decided they'd rather spend this week playing the slots in Tunica, Mississippi.  The photo above was taken on Tuesday morning as they were getting ready to leave.  Notice their t-shirts.  I had them made up especially for them. They say "I'd rather gamble than spend time with m family!"
Here is our table set for Thanksgiving.  Mom sent the flowers for our centerpiece.  Lovely!

Make Up Storage Solutions

What kind of make up do you wear? For several years now, I've worn Bare Minerals by Bare Escentuals.  This 100% natural make up is the best ever...and believe me, I've tried everything! So what's the problem?  Because Bare Escentuals contains no fillers or binders, it's in powder form and tends to settle everywhere.  It's tough to keep the area around it clean.  Add to that the hairspray I use and you quickly end up with a mess sticky mess.  Well, a couple months ago I was searching You Tube to see what others were doing for storage, and lo and behold I came across someone who tried attaching magnets onto her BE pots and magnetized them onto a whiteboard. Cool idea, I thought.  Of course, I wanted mine to be a bit more decorative so I found a cute frame to mount mine in.  So far I'm quite pleased with how it turned out.

The photo above shows all my small BE pots that contain my eyeshadows, glimmers, glimpses, and liner shadows.  There are a couple blushes, too.  In this way I can easily read the color names and quickly choose what I want. The photo below shows the drawers where I store my foundations, mineral veils, all-over face colors, and regular-sized blushes.  I even have a few of my lip glosses in the top drawer.

BRRRR - Chill!

It has begun to grow a bit chilly her in southern Illinois.  On a typical Saturday I can be found at St. Clair Square, a nearby mall.  Today I have opted to stay home where it's warm.  Maybe I'll even get a little laundry done.  Since it's getting very close to the time when I start decorating for Christmas, I'd really like to do some housecleaning.  I'm not really in a cleaning mood, though.
I'd like to say a special "Hi" and "Get well soon" to two of my dear friends, Jeanne and Izzy.  Both of these ladies are recovering from knee surgery.  Jeanne teaches fifth grade with me right  across the hall.  I missed her presence so much this week.  Not having her there threw me off my game.  I'm looking forward to her return to school on Monday.

My Dear Vera Collection!

Lately I have been adding to my collection of Vera Bradley bags and purses. After doing a bit of fall cleaning, I recently discovered some extra space in an old china cabinet I acquired for $75 at an auction in my our neighborhood.  Since I discovered this found space, I decided to arrange an attractive display of my collection of Veras.  It's nice to have all "the girls" displayed this way because, as you can probably tell, my collection was taking over my closet.  You can click on the photo to see a close up of my collection.
